As a result of the postponement of the trial of eighteen Arab leaders who are charged with aiding and abetting the recent riots, the projected Arab strike was called off. It is scheduled to be held simultaneously with the trial, calendared Wednesday.
The reason for the delay in the trial is that the defense has called Chief Magistrate Bodilly, who was to have conducted the proceedings, to appear himself as a witness for the defendants.
Magistrate Currie of Haifa will hear the case.
The S.S. Polonia did not land its passengers today at Haifa on account of a fear that porters would not handle the baggage of Jewish passengers. Other vessels unloaded passengers and cargoes later this morning.
Although the strike will be called Wednesday, feeling is not tense and a general feeling of security prevails.
