The address of Dr. Hjalmar Schacht, Reichsbank president, here last night gave rise to an unusual situation. Dr. Schacht spoke before the German Chamber of Commerce of Switzerland, of which M. Hirschi, a Jew, is chairman. M. Hirschi is also president of the Association of Germans in Switzerland. Dr. Schacht devoted a goodly part of his speech to an attack on the Jews, although the chairman of the occasion at which he spoke was Jewish.
