A warning to the German government was sounded today by Czechoslovakia in the repeated demand for information concerning the fate of many Czechoslovakian citizens, mostly Jews, who had resided in Germany and had been arrested by the Nazi authorities under suspicion of being Communist sympathizers.
Most of these people, under the pretext of this suspicion, were taken from their homes and have disappeared from the sight of their relatives and friends, who fear that they were tortured to death in custody.
The Berlin secret police declined to furnish the Czechoslovakian government with the information on previous occasions as a matter of principle. The latter warned today, however, that unless the information is forthcoming, the list of names of those who have disappeared, with what details are known about their disappearance, will be published. The list has not yet been published, according to government authorities, in the interest of the persons involved.
