More than 200 members of the local chapter of B’nai B’rith attended the fifty-first anniversary of the local lodge.

Joseph Cohen, of Kansas City, president of the B’nai B’rith lodge district No. 2, was the principal speaker. Cohen, a leader of the midwest Jewry, warned against “poisonous propaganda being spread by Hitler supporters in this country.” He urged the Jewry of America to stand as a body against its enemies.

I. L. Fcuer, newly elected president of the Mahoning Lodge, presided at the session which served also as the welcoming of this year’s officers.

The past year has been one of the most successful in the local lodge’s history. Membership has been increased from 70 early in 1933 to 197 at present. Last year’s program also included the organization of a women’s auxiliary and the formation of a Youngstown chapter of the A.Z.A.
