Denying any intention on the part of th Mizrachi to oppose the money raising efforts of the Keren Haysod Rabbi Wolf Gold, president of the American branch of the Mizrachi, addressing a group o synagogue representatives here, declared that unless the religious element predominates. Palestine will become another Goluth country.
Rabbi God’s visit was for the purpose of furthering increased membership an money raising effort on behalf of the Mizrachi organization in Philadephia.
Rabbi Gold reviewed and justified the position taken by the representatives of the Mizrachi at World Zionist Congress in Prague last August. As a minority party, he said, Mizrachi must exert every effort to safeguard Jewish religious practices and observances in the Holy Land. This Mizrachi will cotinue to do. He referred to the fact that a number of those now coming to Palestine are not at all concerned with the religious aspect of the Jew. The influence of these people, he said, must be counteracted.
