When Paul Weinstein, a teacher at the Institute of Jewish Studies for Adults in the Bronx, looked over his mail yesterday morning, he was amazed to find a letter addressed to him by a man about whom he had once written an essay, an incident he had long forgotten.

It was from Robert Nathan, author of the novel “One More Spring.” about whom Weinstein had written an essay entitled “Robert Nathan An Appreciation,” more than a year ago for the international literary contes sponsored by the Mark Twain Society.

Nathan expressed his surprise and gratification at the choice of himself as a subject for the essay, and his pleasure at Weinstein’s success.

Weinstein received a prize of $25 from the sponsors of the contest.
