MONTAGUE GLASS, who died yesterday, will be rememered for the good-natured humor with which he made millions laugh. His Potash and Perlmutter were human, with all their foibles and peculiarities, their weaknesses and finer traits. He never stooped to the easy and cheap vulgarities of the so-called “Jewish” comedian type of humor. Montague Glass created no masterpieces, but his work displayed a keen, sympathetic understanding of the characters he portrayed and a fine sense of loyalty to his people.
