A formal challlenge to the “forces of darkness and oppression” has been issued here by the formation of the Central Coucil for Defense Against Hitlerism, a co-operative body comprising eighteen local Jewish organizations. The Council has declared a boycott against products of Naziland. Chairman of the new organization is Dr. J. W. Newman. Mrs. Joseph E. Friend is chairman of the women’s division.
