This is the first of two articles by Mr. Fischer in which anti-Semitic allegations contained in “Germany’s Fight for Western Civilization,” the pampblet which Nazi agents are attempting ta muggle into this country are systematically refuted
I have before me a pampalet in the English Language, bearing the title, “Germany’s Fight for Western Civilization.” It is issued by the lie factory of the propaganda from of Herr Goebbels and company, and is full of base, unfounded lies. The concoction bears the truly “Aryan’ signature of one Jamrowski as responsible editor.This, one must admit, technically perfect compilation of misrepresentations is being circulated in hundreds of thousands of copies by Hitler’s agents. The object of this pamphlet is quite transparent-it is intended to represent Hitler as the saviour of the entire world from the peril of “Jewish-Marxian” Bolshevism and to impress all the simple and primitiveminded, who are permeated with the dread of Communism, with the all-important part the “Aryan” dictator has played in averting the danger. The honorable Herr Jamrowski’s thesis may be summed up as follows: In Prussia, ruled by the Socialists, the “Communist Jewish” peril reached such an acute stage early in 1933, that Germany had no other choice than between Hitler and Moscow.
One glance at the picture on Page 31 of this pack of lies will suffice to see at once what unserupulous and stupid methods are being used to deceive and befuddie credulous people. The following caption appears under the picture: “The Jewish Communist Member of the Reichstag, Hans Kipperberger, the intellectual author of the execrable murder of the police officers on the Bulow Platz in Berlin, in 1931”
THE REAL MATTER
Outside of the fact that Kipperberger has no more to do with Jewry than Einstein with Hitler, this lie becomes even more grotesque when one recalls that the matter has in reality to do with the sanctioning by Severing. the Prussian Socialist Minister of the drastie meaures taken by the Socialist Socialist Chief of Police, Zoergiebel, in dispersing the Communist First of May demonstration. And who was it that took up the cuigels on behalf of the Communist Party? None other than Herr Goebels’ “Angriff” which came out with big headlines denouncing Severing as “workers’ assassin.”
This in itself should be sufficient to brand the entire Reich propaganda ..sbarrage of base, fifthy lies. Gothein, a high State official in Berline, once said; ‘Staticties are like a fickle wench-one can do or prove anything by statistical data.” Any wonder, then, that Jamrowski-Goebbels and Company becloud the minds of the victims with their so-called statistical figures.
How was it possible, since the war, for “good, old Prussian of Frederick the Great” to become a hot-bed of Jewish Bolshevism? But here, too, shatisties may be of assistance. Thus, on Page 5 we read: “Jewish immigration after the war. Of the 404,000 Jews domiciled in Prussia in 1925, 76,000 were aliens.” Every figure, every word is a lie, nothing but a lie. Now, what is the truth?
THE LUDENDORFF INVITATION
Prior to the war, some 45,000 East-European Jews were living in Germany. During the war a number of East-European Jews came to their “friends” in Germany. following the appeal by General Ludendorff to the Jews in Poland in which he promised them “equal rights” in the Fatherland. In 1933 there were, at most, 55,000 East-European Jews in all of Germany. In an official reply to an inquiry in the Prussian Diet early in 1930, the Prussian Minister of the Interior, stated:
“Since 1919, 107,599 aliens have been domiciled in Prussia, of whom 96,864 were of German extraction, with but 7,654 foreigners from Eastern Europe being persons of non-German descent.”
As we look at the picture printed in “evidence” of the allegation that the East-European immigration brought Bolshevism to Prussia, we can size up the veritable witches cauldron of Nazi progaganda of lies and filth.
Kurt Loewenstein, Commissioners of the Berlin Board of Education, a Socialist by conviction, and a passionate fighter against Bolshevism, was a man who never allowed his partisan interests to interfere with his sense of justice. As organizer of lay schools which had no affiliation with Judaism, he severed, of course, all connections with Jewish Parochial institutions. Whoever visited Loewentstein’s Children’s Republic where thousands of proletarian boys and girl were made happy all summer long in camps and were not burdened in camps and were no burdened with military drill-whoever visited these camps returned enthusiastic over this labor of love and peace. The camp song quoted on Page 30 of the compilation of lies is a mean fabrication. Whoever dared sing “When the blood of Nazis drips from the daggers, happy times will come,” would have been expelled from the camps in short order.
A MAN AND SELENTIST
Dr. Fritz Karsen, who both as a man and as a scientist, was inferior to Loewenstein, has been done too great an honor by the publication of his picture. Perhaps, he is of Jewish depcent, but his fanatical abhorrence of religion has nothing to do with his possible Judaism. At any rate, karsen’s most thoughtless statements regarding religion are unusually mild when compared with the blasphemy and curses heaped upon the chureh by Baldur von Schirach, the present chief leader of German Youth and personal friend of Hitler.
Counsellor Hans Litten, who is introduced to us by the pack of lies in book form, is a Jew whose chief occupation was to defend communists in court. What a crime! In the new Germany they have much more use for the executioner who, in evening dress and white vest, chops off the communists’ heads with an axe.
