I have observed lately that the ancient fake about the Protocols of the Elders of Zion which has been responsible for the loss of thosuands of lives is again brushed up for use in all directions. Not only in Germany has theis astonishing imposture done its foul work during the Hitler ascendancy but it is now revived effectively in Poland, France, Czechoslovakia, Holland and even England.

“World domination by Jews” is such an attractive bogey that one is not surprised to note that adventurers seize it as a fine bludgcon to beat the hated Jews. No matter how vile people in all parts of the world may be, this new propaganda seeks to establish the fact that teh Jews are oven more vile for no other reason, presumably, then that it sounds well to say so.

The protocols, published in 1905 at the time of the unsuccessful revolution in Russia, were desingned to foster the belief among the Russian conservatives and particularly among the people at court that. Jewish conspiracy was the cause and not the represive policy of the buraucracy. The Jewish conspiracy was, of course, world-wide. It was fostered by a secret society with the most sinister motives and all that.

Ever since then, the protocol swindle has been dragged forth first to frighten and then to inflame ignorance and modern his fory attests to the success of the imposture. Now it crops up again imposture. Now it crops up again and the Germans and the Poles are both afraid of the Jews. The Germans, because they know themselves to be the mental ingeriors of the Jews and therefore unable to compete with them at any task which requires mental concentration, and the Pol s, because they have been taught by their Russian masters to oppress the Jew for political purposes.

I have been reading a most interesting and illuminating book entitled “The Jew Today.” Its author, Sidney Dark, treats the subject with meticulous fairness. He is editor of The Church Tmes, organ of authority in the Church of England, a most influential publication with a large circulaton.

Sidney Dark makes on secret of his view that the Hitler leaders have known the protocols to be a swindle and they persist in encouraging the campaign against the Jews. I think no effort should be lost on the part of Jewish leaders, preachers, writers and chairmen of meetings to impress the world with the fact that this protocol should be refuted at every point in order to prevent it from working further mischief. It is so ludicrous in every respect that it is quite likely to be believed by the unthinking. The Jews throughout the world have enough to contend against without having to struggle further with his monstrous fraud.
