Eitor, Jewish Daily Bulletin:

I was perturbed to read, in your ussue of yesterday, an account of an address, dilivered by me in Philadelphia, in which I was quoted as denouncing Nazi “reserch professors.” I am afraid that your correspondent misunderstood me. The major part of my address was devoted to an account of the Hillel Foundations and the part they play in developing a healthy Jewish consciousness among college students. In passing, I added that there were many German research students, mostly to American univesities and had unparalleled opportunities to tell half-truths about the new Germany. It is, therefore, fortunate that the Foundations have trained leaderes on many of the great university compuses, to counteract the influence of such exchage students who do not apply themselves exclusively to their research work.

I am writing to correct the impression of your account because I should be unhappy if any remarks of mine help to add to the panic in American-Jewish Life.
