“There is no more reason to have a Jewish alderman in Montreal than to have a Kaffir or a Zulu,” is the latest cry of the anti-Semitic Le Patriote, which incites its readers to an intensified campaign against the Jewish population of the city. The paper calls all “true Canadians” to turn out en masse in the coming municipal elections and “mop” up the three Jewish aldermen as well as the pro-Jewish city fathers who have become “serfs” of the Jews.

In an issue which is full of the vilest tirades against Jews, Le Patriote also exploits a fabricated story about Jewish manufacturers forcing their French Canadian employees to sign Jewish petitions under threat of dismissal. Under the caption “Destroy the vampires,” it states: “The Canadian Jewish Congress, recently held at Toronto, has given strict instructions to all Jews employing Christian help to force the latter to sign a petition favoring the admission into Canada of the German Jews who have been ousted from their native land as thieves, socialists, bolshevists and corrupt- ers of public morals. The order was to dismiss all Christians who refused to give their signatures to the petition.

“Canadians,do not submit yourself to the domination of the Jews who desire to enslave you. We shall rid ourselves of the Jewish vampires,” concludes the anti-Semile sheet.

After citing a number of “reas-ones”for the ousting of Jews from Germany, this sheet makes the assertion that the “communist”Einstein has stolen his theoies from the Swedish-American Arvid Reuterdahl.” We do not want such undesirables,”it adds.
