War if Reich Meddles in Austria, Says Vallas

“A European war will follow any attempt by Germany to intervene in Austria,” Leon Vallas, a lecturer for the Sorbonne, declared in an address before the Sorbonne, declared in an address before the Alliance Francaise in Milwaukee.

“If peace is to be maintained,” Vallas continued, “Germany must not be permitted to force a union with Austria, or meddle in her government, nor must Hitler be allowed to Nazify Austria.”
