American Jewish youth was urged by Felix M. Warburg yesterday to give consideration to pursuits “where the brain and the muscle are brought into work to their satisfaction and to their country’s health.”
Mr. Warburg’s advice was given in the course of an address before the annual meeting of the Jewish Welfare Board held yesterday at the 92nd Street Y.M.H.A. Building Delegates from constituent societies of the board were present to take in a discussion on “The Jewish Center in a Changing Order.”Judge Irving Lehman, president of the board, president at the session.
Reviewing the activities of the Jewish Welfare Board during the past year, Jude Lehman declared that the Jewish center institutions “are actually on a sounder basis”today.
Harry L. Glucksman, executive director of the Jewish Welfare Board, in his annual report, pointed out that during the last twelve months the number of organizations affiliated with the board had increasd from 259 to 288.
“Our work, though subjected to the rigors of a policy of economy has remained intact,”he declared. (Countinued on Page Eight)
