Plans for production of “Treasure Island” are announced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer which has been working out details for the filming of the Stevenson classic. Wallace Beery and Jackie Cooper will have starring roles. Beery will have the role of Long John Silver and Cooper that of Jim Hawkins. Other selections for the cast are to be announced in the near future. Victor Fleming will direct, with Hunt Stromberg supervising production.
