As the only means available to the Jew in the modern world to “rediscover himself,” Rabbi Henry A. Schorr of Temple Adath Israel urged a “fuller and richer life in the Diaspora and a free and creative Jewish life in Palestine,” in his address Wednesday afternoon before the Women’s League for Palestine which met at Temple Emant-El.

“Hitlerism has shocked the Jew of the western world,” Rabbi Schorr declared, “into the tragic realization that assimilation is bankrupt and that the Jew must look to his own resources and rediscover himself in order to face a hostile world with dignity and self-respect.”
