A plea for greater interest in Jewish affairs on the part of Jewish women was made yesterday by Rabbi William F. Rosenblum, of Temple Israel, addressing the Columbia Lodge of the United Order of True Sisters, 150 West 85th street.
“The Jewish situation in the world today cannot be solved by Jewish men alone,” he asserted. There is pressing need for the employment of every talent of resistance to the new wave of unfriendliness that is sweeping over the continents of the earth. The Jewish woman can contribute today that saving genius of inspiration which she has demonstrated in the past, the sense of perfect partnership with the men of the household of Israel, a partnership which always called for sacrifice.
“The one field in which women can set an inspiring example that will lead to distinguished results in our efforts to help the persecuted Jews of the world”, Rabbi Rosenblum added, “is that of making material sacrifices.”
