Funeral services for Nathan Strauss, retired commission merchant, were conducted yesterday morning at ten o’clock in the West End Funeral Chapel, Ninety-first street and Amsterdam avenue, with Rabbi Louis I. Newman of Congregation Rodeph Sholom officiating. Burial was in Mount Neboh Cemetery in Brooklyn.

Mr. Strauss died Sunday of heart disease at his home, 545 West 112th street. He was born in Germany on January 17, 1857, and came here at the age of sixteen. Later he lived in Mexico for fifteen years and traveled in South and Central America. He was widely known in New York business circles. His chief interests were in the tobacco and tinfoil trades. The last forty years of his life were spent in this city.
