Morris M. Einson, chairman of the Jewish Federation and of the board of governors of the Jewish Community Center, will resign both offices if a $30,000 fund campaign of the center is not successfully concluded by April 13, he announced.

His threatened resignation is accompanied by a recommendation that unless the drive succeeds the center close its doors.

“The Save-the-Center drive still on is a sad disappointment,” he said, “both in the number of contributors and in the amount of the contributions.

“It has been advanced and prolonged to no avail. It is evident that Yonkers Jewry will not support the Jewish Community Center.

“I therefore recommend that the center close its doors and cease activities on Friday, April 13, 1934, unless $30,000 be raised to meet its accumulated deficit.”
