The special committee on kashruth enforcement appointed by New York City authorities will meet on Tuesday evening to consider a number of concrete plans for effective enforcement. The plans have been submitted to the committee by individuals and organizations, William Weiss, chairman of the committee announced. The meeting will be held in the Jewish Center, 131 West Eighty-sixth street.

The committee will hear a discussion of the plans submitted by proponents and opponents, so that it can formulate definite recommendations to the city authorities whereby the kosher food laws will be made more effective. The committee will also endeavor to bring about unified action on the part of the Jewish community for the systematic and periodical regulation of kosher food dealers, as an aid to the enforcement of the laws.

Chairman Weiss announced that he had forwarded the proposed plans to the members of the committee and recommended that the meeting be devoted to “recommendations for more effective enforcement of present day laws and a plan for systematic supervision and regulation of kashruth.”
