The purification of the German nobility, which was begun in the fall of 1933, will be energetically pursued until “not even a single drop of Jew blood runs in the veins of the German nobles,” Lieut. Colonel von Bogen, administrator of the German Nobles Association, announced today in the Deutsche Zeitung.
He declared that the German nobility does not want “nobles who are descendants of Shylock.”
Like all other groups in Germany, the German Nobles Association was coordinated after the advent of the Hitlerites. Colonel von Bogen was appointed administrator and the “Aryan clause” was at once applied in the most brutal manner. Nobles with Jewish blood were ousted from the association and others with a Jewish parent still living were informed that they must disown them if they wanted to remain on the register of nobles.
Prior to the War many of the impoverished German nobles married wealthy Jewish wives.
