Describing his social work among the Jews of the lower east side while a student of Columbia University, Judge Joseph M. Proskauer expressed “profound faith in the efficacy of work among boys” in an address at the Brooklyn Technical Institute under the auspices of the Boys’ Welfare Foundation, last night.

Judge Proskauer praised the young men who “make themselves big brothers to boys.” He described many of the urchins on the lower East Side who have, under proper leadership, become important men.

Supreme Court Justice James C. Cropsey asserted that “the greatest influence in life is that of religion.” A message from Mayor LaGuardia commended the foundation for its work. John C. Curtin also spoke.
