Arnold A. Lasker of New York City won first prize of $50 in the Frances Schneeberg Essay Contest of Young Judaea, it was announced yesterday. Lasker’s topic was “Young Judaea’s Contribution to Jewish Life in America.”
Other winners in the contest, which was nation-wide, were Mordecai Waxman of Chicago, senior group, $25, “The Influence of Palestine Life on American Jewish Youth”; David Macarov of Atlanta, Ga., intermediate group, $15, “If I were to Spend a Year in Palestine”; and Madeline Feldman of New Haven, Conn., junior group, $10, “My Young Judaea Club.”
