The best of puns are feeble things, but this is one we really can’t resist: It’s a season to suit yourself! Yes ma’am, a jacket and skirt or a jacket and frock is the uniform of this month and there is infinite variety in the models offered. Man-tailored wool suits are getting a bit hot under the collar now but they are still on tap. Suits of cotton, string cloth, non-wrinkling linen, gingham, alpaca and knit are very swanky and summery and can be worn comfortably for business, sports or going places. Peck & Peck have a grand collection.

In this year of grace adornments, Saks 5th Avenue has come forward with some stunning novelty jewelry. One bracelet we saw there was a lovely piece of heavy crystal, deeply carved on the inside and hand painted in subtle summer shades that will blend beautifully with all of your summer clothes. A clip to match had a roving look, as if it knew it was going to get around to everything from your most frivolous gown to a sweater or hand-bag. The price tag reads kindly like a good old fashioned inexpensive budget.

Ludwig Baumann now gives us furniture that is slated to lead a double life! By day this apparently innocent piece of furniture is a bright and charming plaid covered settee in a metal frame, to stand smartly on a porch or in a sun-parlor, but at night it quietly unfolds its other side and opens into a double or individual twin beds. It will solve your problem of where to put up those unexpected and extra week-end guests.

To those for whom unusual clothes are an essential, the announcement of the opening of another branch to the 57th Street Peasant Art Shop will be welcome news. There you will find clothes of Russian and Roumanian influence brought up-to-date in gay, enhancing styles. It’s fun purchasing at these shops for you can go in, pick out the style you want, the material, and then you want, the material, and then you can finger dozens of lovely pieces of intriguing embroidery until you choose the kind you want to adorn your frock. The new store is located at 514-5th avenue.

Just a few weeks old and yet one of the most talked of products in town! For 25 years Kathleen Mary Quinlan has sought a cream that would lend a soft and dewy freshness to the complexion and today she presents us with “Mist of Dawn,” a liquid finishing cream. This cream with its hauntingly lovely fragrance and velvety consistence will light up your face with a delicate and transparent beauty. With week-end weather here, motoring and the like you’ll find that Mist of Dawn will ward off the ravages of sun and wind and create a lasting finish to which powder adheres throughout the day and night.

The 8 winning contestants of the N. M. Ohrbach award for Dress Design were presented with certificates on Wednesday by former Governor Alfred E. Smith. This award is offered to encourage young designing talent in the creation of American costumes. In addition to the certificates Mr. Smith presented a bronze plaque to the Traphagen School for polling the greatest amount of points in the contest.
