Debate Title Won by Shaarey Zedek

The Shaarey Zedek team defeated the group from Congregation B’nai David and won the city debating championship.

The series of debates was sponsored by the Detroit Jewish Forensic League, and participating organizations besides Shaarey Zedek and B’nai David, were Temple Beth EI, B’nai Moshe, Jewish Community Center and Philomathic Debating Society. Theodore H. Baruch is the manager of the league.

Dr. Preston H. Scott, head of the speech department of Wayne University, was the judge. Philip Slomovitz presided. The winners were awarded the Simon Shetzer Trophy.
