Rabbi Dr. Joachim Prinz and Rabbi Dr. Manfred Swarsensky have issued an appeal on behalf of the “Parents” Aid Work for the Jewish Youth,” which is endeavoring, they explain, by organizing Jewish parents to facilitate the work of education and training of their children, in conjunction with the existing Jewish institutions engaged in education and training work.
“The Parents’ aid Work has been created by fathers and mothers who are conscious of their responsibilities,” the appeal says, “in order to provide for the development of our youth, and to protect them against suffering, whether it is in the Jewish or the general schools. It has been formed in order to stand by the side of parents and children who have not yet found their feet after upheaval of the present time, and have not yet come to realize their own value.
“It seeks to promote the Jewish school system, and its development as a fundamental for Jewish education through the voluntary cooperation of the parents.
“The minimum annual subscription is four marks,” it is added, “and the cooperation of all Jewish parents of all movements and parties is urged.”
