Authorities today searched the homes of leading members of the Transjordanian Arab Executive in connection with the executive’s hostile proclamation against the Emir Abdullah and his visit to London. No Statement was issued as to the purpose of the searches or their results.
The Arab Executive today cabled to the British Colonial Office a lengthy protest against the leasing of Transjordanian lands, part of the Emir’s personal domain, for colonization and development by Jews, “thus bringing in Zionism.”
The Arab press reports that before departing from Jerusalem for London earlier this week, the Emir declared that although certain circles suggested be should negotiate for the joining of Palestine and Transjordania into one unit, he nevertheless though that such a step was premature. The Emir, according to the Arab press, declared that nevertheless he would reply to such questions on Palestine as are put to him in London.
