In a petition addressed to Governor William A. Comstock, a group of Jews point out that 20,000 Detroit Jewish voters will be disfranchised unless the polls in Michigan are kept open after sundown on primary election day, Sept. 11, the second day of Rosh Hashonah.
The petition is circulated by Edward Hurley Cevitt, a Republican candidate for state senator, and Herman Blumberg.
