A gathering of more than 2,000 veterans, members of the Jewish War Veterans, Massachusetts Branch, went unanimously on record for the continuation of the boycott of German goods at its annual convention this week at the Hotel Statler. A resolution also was adopted hitting at Communistic activities and branding all attempts to link the Red movement with Judaism as false.
William Berman, national commander-in-chief, termed teachings of Communism and the spreading of Red propaganda “a menace to all citizens of this country.”
Meyer J. Rubin of Worcester was elected state commander. He succeeds Harry Member of Lynn. Other officers elected include Louis Rosenberg of Lawrence, senior vice-commander; Clarence Richmond of Chelsea, judge advocate; Dr. Edward Rosenberg of Brookline, surgeon; and Rabbi Joseph S. Shudow of Boston, chaplain.
Mrs. Josephine Abels of Worcester was elected state president of the women’s auxiliary.
