The League Against Communism held a meeting at San Diego hotel recently before an audience of 150 persons composed chiefly of women. C. T. Lee, a leader of the local Silver Shirts and reputedly a representative of Pelley, was the chairman of the gathering. he introduced as the guest speaker of the evening Dr. Ernest von Buelow, a German geologist from Mecklenburg.
Dr. von Buelow’s talk was devoted entirely to the devout religious faith of Adolph Hitler who is a personal friend of the geologist. Von Buelow declared that “God sent Hitler to the German people In fact, the reason Hitler took over the government of Germany, according to the Mecklenburg doctor, was his devout faith. His Sole wish was to protect religion in Germany and to insure the churches against being destroyed as they had been in Soviet Russia. Posters showing the propaganda against religion in the U.S.S.R. were also displayed.
The League Against Communism is the third organization Buelow has joined. In an effort to disseminate Hitler propaganda in the west, he speaks wherever he can find an audience that will listen to him. About a year ago he was identified with an organization called the “Anti-Crime Commission.” The latter dissolved soon after its ###ception and Buelow joined the local unit of the Silver Shirts.
The Doctor displayed a large photograph of Hitler “as he really looks.” the picture of the German Fuehrer was received with very little enthusiasm.
