Hungarian Jews Meet Here Today

The first annual convention of he Association of Hungarian Jews of America will open this morning at the Hotel Edison, West Forty-seventh street, in the presence of 600 delegates from all parts of the country. Max D. Steuer and former Congressman Nathan D. Perlman, vice-president of the American Jewish Congress, will deliver the principal addresses.

Dr. Max Krause, president of the association, will open the convention. Reports will be rendered by Councilor S. Ohlbaum, chairman of the board of directors, and Morton Greebanum, secretary. A membership of 15,000, composed of sixty-two Hungarian organizations throughout the country, will be represented in the deliberations, which will concluded with a banquet in the evening at which outstanding Jewish leaders will be the quests of honor.

The main problems to be discussed acted upon will be the status of Jews in Hungary, relations with the Hungarian government and numbers clauses in the universities. The delegates will also be called upon to act in regard to the anti-Nazi boycott and participation of the association in the forthcoming World Jewish Congress.
