RABBI LOUIS I. NEWMAN, Temple Rodeph Sholom-Nothing must divert the interest of the Jewish people from Palestine, or the recognition by the British government and the League of Nations that the hope of the Jewish people for rescue and survival lies in the development of the Jewish people in the Far East.

The Russian Soviet regime has offered Jews a homeland in Biro Bidjan which has been declared a “Jewish Republic.” We appreciate the friendly gesture from the Soviet, but it is important to note that while only a handful of German refugees made for Russia, thousands sought a home in Palestine and the Near East.

Jews have a right to seek an asylum anywhere, but what Israel builds in Palestine is reared upon enduring foundations, whereas elsewhere we build our house on shifting sands.

NAZI ACTIVITIES

RABBI JACOB BOSNIAK, Ocean Parkway Jewish Center-The worth of any investigating commission depends on the use it makes of its findings. I am referring especially to the Congressional Committee which is now investigating the Nazi activities in this country. Whether Congress will put an end to the German propaganda depends upon the interpretation the country as well as its representatives will give to the committee findings.

Only the surface facts can be brought to light, because the real incriminating evidence they were clever enough to cover up. But the important thing is-what use will be made of the facts that are brought to light?

REWARD OF FAITH

RABBI JOSEPH ZEITLIN, Temple Ansche Chesed-Man often questions the value of the spiritual. What benefits can he derive from religion when everything that exists in its sphere can neither be measured nor proven? Science on the other hand is so certain and positive whereas religion is based on faith. If you do not think that religion can serve you well, it is because you have neither given it a chance.

Live it fairly and honestly and it is return shall bring a new life unto you. The reward of faith is the blessedness of faith.
