For the first time in the history of the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights ten pupils of the Religious School will be graduated.
Exercises will be held Saturday evening in the auditorium of the Center. Julius Brown, newly-appointed chairman of the Board of Education, will preside, and Dr. Mordecai Soltes, director of education of the National Jewish Welfare Board, will deliver the address to the graduates. Diplomas will be distributed by Mrs. Margaret Berkowitz, co-chairman of the Board of Education, and prizes by Moses Darabaner, principal of the religious school.
In addition to the processional and recessional, and the singing of the national anthem, brief talks will be given by the following graduates: Seymour Friedman, Robert Kraus, Martin Lieberman, Abraham Perline, Bernard Reiter, Joseph Rosov, Rhoda Rubin, Irving Weinshel, Esther Zalin and Joseph Zarchy.
Rev. Henry Fried, cantor of the Center and director of the music department, will lead the singing. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Harry Golin.
