Settlement of refugees from Germany in South America was discussed today at the session of the advisory council of the League of Nations High Commission for German Refugees. No decisions were made but proposals were formulated for consideration at the next meeting of the body in August.
The meeting of the council opened today in the absence of James G. McDonald, the High Commissioner, who is now in the United States. Among those attending the meeting were Neville Laski, British Jewish leader; Max Gottschalk, of Antwerp, head of the Belgian refugee committee: Baron Robert de Rothschild, French Jewish philanthropist; Dr. Bernhard Kahn, European director of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee: Dr. Louis Oungre, executive director of the Jewish Colonization Association, and Dr. Nahum Goldman, of the Committee of Jewish Delegations.
