“I still believe in the Constitution!” Mayor LaGuardia shouted yesterday when asked what he intends to do about Dr. Charles A. Fama, branded a religious bigot by a unanimous vote of the Board of Aldermen, which termed him unfit to be a member of the medical board of the New York City Employes Retirement System.

The Mayor said he is dissatisfied with the results of an investigation conducted by a committee appointed by the Board of Aldermen and plans an inquiry of his own.

Investigation of Fama’s conduct in office was occasioned by charges that the physician was making inflammatory speeches and had written anti-Catholic articles.
