William May Garland, Los Angeles promoter of the California Olympic games, and member of the International Olympic Committee, who returned from Europe aboard the Rex yesterday, gave assurance that Jewish teams from Palestine and Jewish athletes from all countries, including Germany, will take part in the 1936 Olympic Games scheduled for Berlin.
Garland said that in his opinion the German officials in charge of the event are prepared to live up to promises made in Vienna last year, according to the terms of which the youth of Germany will be allowed to take part in the games regardless of race, color or creed.
The Olympic Committee, which has just concluded a session in Athens, has voted unanimously to admit Palestine to competition at the games, according to Garland.
