In a letter written to Bishop Joseph Schrembs, Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver praised a recent pastoral letter of the Bishop in which morally unsound motion pictures were denounced.

“The vigorous attack which you make upon indecent and morally baneful motion pictures which have come out of Hollywood and the stand which your church has taken are deserving of the highest praise and should be endorsed by every right thinking man and woman in the United States,” said Rabbi Silver in his letter.

In response, Bishop Schrembs thanked the rabbi and sent him a copy of the pastoral letter and the Pledges for Adults and Children.
