Rabbi David Philipson, of Rockdale Avenue Temple, dean of American reform rabbis, has written a letter to Archbishop John T. McNicholas, local Catholic prelate, voicing his hearty approval of the efforts of a conference of Catholic bishops, being held here, to wage a campaign for clean movies.

“You are performing an incalculable service to the cause of clean and decent recreation, and thus entering the lists against the unconscionable producers who for the sake of gain are converting an agency which has tremendous possibilities for good into one of the most corrupting influences of our day,” Dr. Philipson wrote.

He also told of the action of the Central Conference of American Rabbis in planning to work for the elevation of the moral standards of the movies.
