A flying class has been started by Steel Helmets here. The class, to teach members the elements of aviation, is conducted by “Comrade” Langler, former flying instructor in China, the United States and Argentina. He is said to have been a flying ace in the German army during the World War. Members of the class meet Wednesday nights at 637 Webster avenue, where the Steel Helmets also have a shooting gallery for target practice. When the class knows some aviation, it will be taken to an air school, where real planes are used for instruction. This school is said to be located at 1244 Fletcher street.
Plans already have been drawn up for a big German aviation day in Chicago this Fall. The purpose of this demonstration, it is stated, is that the “Jews of this country must realize that we have to be figured on and reckoned with, and we are going to make a public show of our power.”
