‘build Homeland,’ Says Lady Simon

“All the news concerning Jews” is faithfully and promptly reported in the Jewish Daily Bulletin — the only Jewish daily newspaper printed in English.

Lady Kathleen referred to her early associations with the Zionist movement at the height of Herzl’s activities, when she received many messages from Herzl at Basle.

“In those days I looked around the world and saw the plight of the Jews. I said, ‘Why cannot these people have their own country? Why don’t the Jews demand justice?’

“Finding still anti – Zionistic Jews, I think this is disgraceful. I say to them, you may be well-treated here, but don’t you care for the ill-treated people of your race in other countries? I am tactfu. I want you to be tactical. Do not forget that the old racial feeling has not disappeared from the world. Do not forget even in your comfortable home that Zionism means the salvation of thousands of Jews living the world over. My advice to you is to follow the footsteps of Theodor Herzl.”
