To the Editor, Jewish Daily Bulletin:
In your editorial remarks in the issue of July 11, do you not unintentionally do Rabbi Goldstein an injustice, or so it would seem from your paper’s own quotation of the Rabbi’s words.
I think that a careful perusal of the Rabbi’s quoted remarks would point to one conclusion, that insofar as any Jews or for that matter any non-Jews who are in any degree of control by virtue of ability or money, in either the conception, production and distribution or any essential phase of the moving picture industry, that thereby such individuals take upon themselves a measure of responsibility and duty to see to it that the decencies are observed, especially so when many tender and immature minds are exposed to the admitted evils and rotteness of not a few productions.
Because there are quite a number of clever ones among us people that choose to play strongly on the powerful sex instinct for profit does not justify an utter disregard for moral standards.
