anxiety over the fate of wives and children who had been spending their holidays in the districts affected. Anxiety is also expressed over the fate that may have overtaken members of the Jewish Youth Colonies of Galicia, also thought to have been flooded.

The Warsaw Jewish community has received from numerous affected Jewish townships alarms and appeals for help. Government authorities are continuing rescue work.
