Chicago Jews See Preview of ‘epic of Nation’

Representative selections from the “Epic of a Nation,” to be produced on Jewish Community Day at A Century of Progress in Soldier Field, July 29, were presented Thursday night in a preview of the production in the Cameo Room of the Morrison Hotel before an audience composed largely of Jewish youth.

Drama, song, dancing and orchestra music were served to those attending the preview, setting forth the significance and nature of the spectacle.

Miss Sabina Solomovitz acted as chairman of the preview, with Maurice Kaufman co-chairman. Ann Kartman was chairman of the souvenir program and patrons committee.

Detailed plans for the preview were made by Leo Kopp and J. Blake Scott, music and dramatic directors for the spectacle which will employ the services of more than 6,000 persons.

The gigantic production, a sequel to last year’s “Romance of a People” will open with a pageant of youth with 3,000 Jewish young people of the city seen in a mammoth flag drill, boxing drill, tumbling and calesthenics.
