Condemnation of the Histadruth, Palestine labor organization, was the keynote of a Zionist Revisionist mass meeting at the Hotel Pennsylvania last night.
Elias Ginsburg, chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Revisionist Organization, laid the blame for “provocative propaganda disrupting Jewry” at the door of the Histadruth.
“Stavsky, Rosenblatt and Achimeier, three courageous Palestinian Revisionists,” he declared, “have been cleansed in a blood bath.”
Ginsburg praised Achimeier for daring to contravene the Palestine government in the interests of the Jewish people.
Hearty applause greeted the name of Rabbi Abraham HaCohen Kook, chief rabbi of Palestine, who has been active in the defense of Stavsky.
Ginsburg praised the Jewish Daily Bulletin and Herman Bernstein, editor, for impartial news reports of the Stavsky case. He delivered a scathing attack on Jacob Fishman, editor of the Jewish Morning Journal and challenged him to a public debate on Revisionism.
Aaron Propes, head of the Polish Revisionists, expressed his gratification at the vindication of Stavsky.
“When Stavsky was freed in Palestine,” said Mordecai Danzis of the Revisionist executive committee, “many of us hoped for a rapprochement between the Revisionists and the Histadruth. But the Histadruth actions of the last few days, such as attacks on Stavsky by its press and stoning of a synagogue where he was worshipping, have shown us that the Histadruth remains the same. They have no willingness for peace.”
Danzis pointed out that the Stavsky acquittal proves the efficacy of organized protest. If not for a petition in Stavsky’s behalf, Danzis declared, he would not have been acquitted.
B. Epstein praised Rabbi Kook for his work in Stavsky’s behalf. He blamed the Histadruth for the case and demanded that the Histadruth leaders retire from political life.
