Defeated on all fronts, the Jewish Sabbath Alliance of America has decided to abandon its efforts to force the Board of Education to postpone the opening of schools in the Fall from September 10 to the 12th on account of the Jewish New Year, it was announced yesterday by William Rosenberg, executive secretary.

The decision to drop the fight was made following notification by Assemblyman Albert D. Schanzer that his resolution urging the Assembly to memorialize the Board of Education and New York City to amend the Board’s by-laws so that a postponement could be effected had failed to be acted upon by the legislature.
