Rabbis Philip Shore and Joseph Sholson, both of Perth Amboy, were killed today when their automobile crashed into the rear of a truck loaded with bricks on a rain-soaked highway near here.

A woman and another man who were in the car were critically injured. Both may die.

The car was twisted into a shapeless mass by the impact of the crash, and rescuers were forced to tear it apart to pull the occupants out.

Rabbi Shore died on the way to the Perth Amboy hospital while Rabbi Sholson died a few minutes after his admission.

Bessie Shore, wife of the rabbi, is in Matawan Hospital with compound fractures of the left arm and right leg and with internal injuries. Samuel Levine, kosher butcher, is also in the hospital with internal injuries.

Mrs. Shore and Levine reside at 391 Division street, Perth Amboy, as did the two fatally injured rabbis.

They were driving from Belmar to Perth Amboy when the accident occurred.

Police held the driver of the truck for questioning, but no charge was placed against him.
