Field Marshall Viscount Allenby, conqueror of Palestine, will pass through Montreal tomorrow to participate in the reunion of the Canadian Corps which is taking place in Toronto during the weekend.
The reunion of the War Veterans will also bring together many former members of the Jewish Legion, who served under General Allenby and it is expected that they will be reviewed by their former commander-in-chief.
During a previous visit in Canada General Allenby expressed his appreciation of the services of the Jewish Legion in the following terms:
“I wish to state how greatly I was assisted in my work by the heroic efforts of the Jewish intelligence officers stationed in Jerusalem, many of whom sacrificed their lives and property for the cause of the Allies.
