Paterson’s labor memorial, the Workmen’s Circle Labor Lyceum, now being constructed at Twelfth avenue and Carroll street, will be formally dedicated Sunday morning at eleven o’clock when the cornerstone will be laid. Prominent members of the Workmen’s Circle movement throughout the country are expected to attend and participate in the dedication.
The building committee has instituted a drive for $6,000 to cover construction costs of the building.
The Lyceum is expected to be completed by November 15. Jewish citizens already have contributed all electric fixtures and appliances, all office equipment, painters’ and decorators’ service, and the first hundred gallons of fuel oil.
The officers of the Lyceum are: Alter Skomsky, president; Leo Rosenkopf, secretary; and Nathan Breitstein, treasuerr. The building committee includes Leo Rosenkopf, chairman; Max Goodman, Nathan Breistein, Morris Cooper, Meyer Lax, Philip Janowitz, Alex Stein, Samuel Shelov, and David Yedwab.
