“We want Jewish immigrants to land in Palestine through Jaffa,” is the uncompromising demand of Arab longshoremen here who refuse to listen to the government’s arguments that the port of Jaffa is to be reserved solely for orange ships while debarkation of all immigrants will be centralized at Haifa. They also have submitted a new plaint to the authorities in which they insist on their “rights” to handle the Jewish immigrant traffic.
