Beneath the rustling pines of the northwest Jewish Civilian Conservation Corps, the Jewish High Holidays will be observed next month. The Jewish Welfare Board will furnish prayer books and prayer shawls.

Furloughs without loss of pay have been granted by the War Department to CCC workers employed near enough to their homes to return there for the holiday week. Arrangement is being made whereby workers who cannot go home may observe the holidays in nearby Jewish communities.

In cases where the CCC camp is far removed from any Jewish community, the Jewish Welfare Board will send all the necessary paraphernalia to the camp and arrangements will be made for a chaplain to conduct the services.

There are about 3,000 Jewish workers in the CCC.
